In our missions we declare that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior in the church, in the community and in the world, by:
- Informing, involving and empowering our congregation to share its time and talents, and
- Maintaining integrity in all our relationships and in the use of our resources.
Acts 1:8
Matthew 25: 31-46
Although it may seem, we in the body of Christ have in fact been endowed with the riches of His glorious inheritance, individual spiritual gifts bestowed by the Holy Spirit that go beyond our born talents. In 1 Corinthians 12 we read, "Now to each one the manifestation of the spirit is given for the common good."
1 Peter 4:10 goes on to say, "Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms." As Disciples of Christ, it is our privilege and our mandate to offer both our talents and our spiritual gifts to His body, the Church.
At 1st Pres, we support many local and international missions and missionaries. For more information on missions or to find out how you, too, can be a missionary (short term), email or call Jeff White at 723-1621, Ext. 235.
