Summer and Special Events with Children's Ministry
Summer at First Presbyterian
Just because it is summer, doesn’t mean that we take a break from loving and learning about Jesus. We have lots of opportunities for kids of all ages to grow in their faith and help others.
Vacation Bible School - June 25-28, 2012
5th Grade Mission Week June 25 - 28, 2012. Cost is $7 per student. Offered each summer, this program is a send-off for our graduated 5th graders into the wild world of Middle School. While the younger elementary school children have Vacation Bible School, and the older Middle School Youth have overnight mission trips, this week-long program offers a transition that effectively bridges the gap between these two different programs. Our fifth graders spend the four days of VBS separate from the elementary kids in a program created just for them. During the first part of each morning they will have their own bible lesson discovering how the lesson is relevant to their own life and the upcoming switch to middle school. In the second half of the morning, they will take what they have learned and apply it by serving the Winston-Salem community. At the end of the week, they will have an opportunity to relax and discuss the weeks events with a picnic at Hanging Rock State Park. Wiggle Worms Preschool Story Hour Come and bring your preschoolers to our Media Center on the first floor of Building A for an hour of bible stories, crafts and music. Afterwards they can browse through our library for some great books to take home. No registration required. Just drop in and feel free to bring a neighbor or friend. Dates will be available in the spring.
