Worship Arts - The Worship Team
Purpose: To lead the corporate congregational worship of God to the best of our abilities through the use of our musical gifts, talents and team work. Requirements: An audition is required to participate on the worship team. The person must be of at least intermediate ability on his or her own instrument or voice and be at least 14 years old. All must at least be able to read off of sheet music and be able to learn melodies by ear, band members must be able to read chord charts and preferably play by ear. Experience is a plus!
Hours per week: A worship team member is expected to come to rehearsal practiced and ready to play or sing the material. The vocal rehearsal and full band rehearsal is only for fine tuning. The prep time varies for each person but I would plan anywhere from 1-4 hours depending on your level of skill. The rehearsal is on Thursday night from 6:30pm to 9pm and the Sunday morning rehearsal and service is from 9:30am to 12noon. The total group rehearsal and service times commitment (not including personal practice times) add up to 5 hours a week (2.5 on Thursday and 2.5 on Sunday morning= 5hours).
