5th Grade Missions Week - July 12-15, 2010 - Registration Ends June 27th
Offered each summer, this program is a send-off for our graduated 5th graders into the wild world of Middle School. While the younger elementary school children have Vacation Bible School, and the older Middle School Youth have overnight mission trips, this week-long program offers a transition that effectively bridges the gap between these two different programs. Our fifth graders spend the four days of VBS separate from the elementary kids in a program created just for them. During the first part of each morning they will have their own bible lesson discovering how the lesson is relevant to their own life and the upcoming switch to middle school. In the second half of the morning, they will take what they have learned and apply it by doing mission work around Winston-Salem. At the end of the week, they will have an opportunity to relax and discuss the weeks events with a picnic at Hanging Rock State Park. To register after June 27th please call Sharon Spencer at 723-1621 x 236.

Missions
At First Presbyterian Church, we believe that children are capable of living beyond themselves. Through teaching moments, they are encouraged to be kind. Through involvement in local, national, and global missions projects, they learn how they can take that kindness and touch the world. Look for these opportunities in the church newsletter or email us.
If you are a parent and wish to be more involved with this part of our ministry, we are always looking for ideas, chaperones, and leaders. Simply email us with your name and how you would like to be involved. Or check out the Get Involved section of our website for more.
Visiting for the 1st Time?
Welcome! We are excited for your arrival and encourage you to come to the Children’s Ministry window to check-in your child/children. Our Children’s Ministry Office is centrally located in Building A at the corner of the first floor hall off the Marshall Street entrance in room A-101. At this window, we will explain our check-in procedure, answer any questions and personally take your child to his or her room. A greeter, information center host or nursery host can also direct you.
Check out our Visit Us page for more frequently asked questions about our church.
